Welcome at the Contact Service of the NGVOn this page you find information about the Contact Service of the Nederlandse Genealogische Vereniging (NGV) or, in English the Dutch Genealogical Association. You can read what the Contact Service offers to genealogists, how the Contact Service operates and how you can make use of the Contact Service. If you wish, you can also participate in the Contact Service, so that fellow genealogists can get in touch with you. By the motto there's no such thing as a free lunch we like to see users of the Contact Service become participants! Remember that your own genealogical data can also be useful for others. Both using and participating in the Contact Service is also open to genealogy practioners who are not a member of the NGV. However we would be grateful if you would decide to become a member of the NGV! Finally we are prepared to help you to make a summary of your genealogical data for inclusion in the Contact Service. However the Contact Service is not a go-between for genealogical data - its sole purpose is to facilitate contact between genealogy practioners in order to exchange information. If you have received information from another participant, it is of course normal to thank her or him for this and in case you have additional information to share your data with the other. It is also common practice when publishing to acknowledge the persons from whom you have received information.
